I want to run a dev and prod frontend using a single backend. Is that possible ? If so, how to configure ? Only the subdomains differ in the URL of both frontends.

Also, if you do this, the user pool will be the same for prod and dev users. Is that surely a good idea? This may affect stats like your user count, MAUs etc in prod env.

what @User says is right but if its just dummy project and you really want to do that I think you can make a boolean which depicts the state of the app either in prod or dev and then change the subdomains conditionally in the init function is that right @User

You can't change the values in the init function dynamically 😦

So what you will need to do is: 1) to set the

websiteDomain

in the backend init function to be your top level website domain 2) On the frontend, the

websiteDomain

should be your current domain. 3) The provide the

getResetPasswordURL

and

getEmailVerificationURL

callbacks to the backend init function to return the correct URL based on if the user is a dev user or a prod user. This should solve your issue.
