Hello 👋 First of all, thank you very much for this great product 🚀 I was wondering if it was possible to switch my cloud instance to ipv6? Thank you in advance.
r
hey @tinque1, I'm not sure if this is possible, but @kakashi_44 can help with this.
t
Is there at least a dual stack?
r
i don't think we have ipv6
t
Okay, I'm waiting for an answer from @kakashi_44 , but if I can contribute to this, I'm in!
r
why do you need ipv6 though? We just give you the URL that you can pass in to the backend sdk
t
I need IPv6 as my entire infrastructure is on IPv6. To access the SuperTokens instance, I'll have to set up a NAT gateway for IPv4 to IPv6 translation.
r
right. Im not sure if we support this. But will wait for @kakashi_44
k
Hey @tinque1 , unfortunately right now, the instances we use to deploy the supertokens SAAS service don't have IPV6 address associated with them
t
Hello @kakashi_44 thanks for your answer ! And is it possible to associate ipv6 ? I could help if necessary !
r
this would probably require a change to our managed service infra, which is not part of the open source code - so helping there will be difficult
t
I've noticed that my instance is hosted on AWS, and starting in February, public IPv4 will incur charges. Therefore, for cost efficiency, it would be beneficial to migrate to IPv6.
r
interesting.. We could do this sometime in november. For now though, it's not possible since we are occupied with other ongoing work.
If you'd like to keep track of this, then you could open an issue about this on our github
t
No worries, in any case, thank you again for your great product!
r
Thanks for letting us know about the AWS changes 🙂
r
thanks
